6,6,6 - Dhoni Turns Back The Clock With Explosive Batting vs Hardik. Watch

The crowd at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai were left stunned as MS Dhoni slammed Hardik Pandya for three back-to-back sixes during the IPL 2024 match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Dhoni came out to bat with four balls to go in the CSK innings and ended up scoring 20 runs at a strike rate of 500. Hardik had no answers to Dhoni's explosive batting as the all-rounder was slammed all over the ground with the crowd cheering every shot from the CSK star.

The first delivery from Hardik to Dhoni was a slower one and the batter quickly read the length and heaved it for a massive six over long-off. The bowler followed it up with a length ball but the result was the same as it sailed over wide long-on for the second six in as many balls for Dhoni.

The next delivery was the worst of the lot as Hardik ended up producing a low full toss on the pads and Dhoni just flicked it effortlessly over deep square leg for his third six of the match.

Dhoni was looking to hit the final ball of the over for a maximum as well but he ended up mishitting it slightly and settled for a double as CSK's total crossed 200 thanks to the late onslaught.

Coming to the match, Shivam Dube remained unbeaten on 66 while skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad scored a brilliant 69 to take CSK to a big total of 206 for the loss of four wickets. The MI bowlers did not look in control for the majority of the innings and Hardik Pandya was the only one to take two wickets.

"Around about par (total). The pitch gets better as the night gets on because of dew. That's what happened in the last game. Very beneficial (to be alongside Bumrah). He (Bumrah) is probably the best in the world in this format, so learn from him. I'm loving it (the IPL). Great conditions here for cricket and you need to be at your best," Mumbai Indians pacer Gerald Coetzee said during the innings break.
